Lakshmi Farms is named honor Lakshmi, the Hindu Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity.

Lakshmi's four arms represent the four Puruṣārtha, literally the "object of human pursuit". These are Dharma, the pursuit of a virtuous, moral life; Artha, the pursuit of wealth, or a means of life; Kāma, the pursuit of love, sensual and emotional fulfillment; and Moksha, the pursuit of self-knowledge, liberation.

Dharma dictates that we care for our earth and our animals as we do ourselves, carefully and lovingly. Artha guides us as a working farm, as we continue to grow and sustain ourselves economically. Kāma is the pleasure and enjoyment we share with our community through educational and volunteer activities-- the bliss one finds in the land. Moksha is the fleeting moment when we lose ourselves completely in our work.

Lakshmi Farms was created to honor small farms, and engage our community with the Land.
